Editing Collection titles and descriptions

Navigate to the collection you would like to update

Click Edit below the collection search box

Edit the title or description, or any other metadata field

Click Submit

Moving Collections

Before you move the collection you will want to gather the appropriate PIDs:

  • PID for the collection you want to move
  • PID for the new parent collection

Go to the Fedora admin page

Under the Object menu enter the community PID in the Open Object PID search box and click Open

Moving a collection requires changing the parent PID in two locations: the RELS-EXT and the properties datastreams

  • Double click the RELS-EXT datastream and click Edit Content

In the <drs:hasAffiliation> field, change the PID value in the rdf:resource attribute to the new parent collection PID

Click Save Changes

  • Double click the properties datastream and click Edit Content

Change the value of the <parent_id> field from the old parent collection PID to the new parent collection PID

Click Save Changes

Removing Collections

Move or remove all objects contained within the collection to be deleted

Go to the Fedora admin page

Under the Object menu enter the community PID in the Open Object PID search box and click Open

Click Purge Object

Verify Purge Object: Click Yes
