Requirements for Managing Communities

You must have admin privileges in the DRS to manage communities in the DRS.

Creating Communities

Visit the DRS Admin page

Click Manage Communities

Click Create new community

Parent Community: Enter and select the name of the parent community. If the desire parent community does not exist, create that community first.

Supply the community name, and optionally a description of that community.

Select the appropriate permission, either public or private.

Add a thumbnail for the community, if available.

If this community grants theses or dissertations, click the Include Theses and Dissertations Folder box

Click Submit

Editing Communities titles and descriptions

Visit the DRS Admin page

Click Manage Communities

Find the community you would like to edit

Click Edit

Make the desired changes and click the first Submit button

Moving Communities

Go to [Fedora admin] Open the RELS-EXT datastream Change [col id] to the new [col id] Open the properties datastream Change the [col id] to the new [col id]

Removing Communities

Visit the DRS Admin page

Click Manage Communities

Find the community you would like to remove

Click Destroy
