  • Introducing Sarah! She is the new intern for the DRS Project Toolkit
  • Bahare has a class she will be meeting with and appears to be going forward with working with the Boston Atlas Habitat Maps project.
  • Grant proposal for DRS Maps has been successfully submitted.
  • We are looking for a new name for DRS. SO far we are going with CERES.
  • Thoreau project is moving forward
  • We are trying to move it into CERES instead of Omeka
  • Data clean up will finish around July
  • We will check in around May
  • We are trying to move to CERES for annotation and GIS projects, since now we are developing for those.
  • We should be more watchful of the early prototyping projects
  • Wikipedia teaching event is coming up!
  • A Wiki Ed person is coming and there will be a fun two hour workshop with Amanda and Cecelia
  • Steven and Bahare are in the process of making some handouts
  • Also working on re-purposing their talk about the GIS and Data Viz tools
  • Amanda went to an MOU webinar
  • Stand for Memorandum of Understanding/Agreement
  • MoU is not legally binding. It is typically the agreement before the agreement and money tends not to change hands with this
  • Useful for avoiding lawyers, contracts make people uncomfortable, etc
  • MoU can be very useful for delicate negotiations
  • Don't use overly legal language, also preface by saying it's not legally binding in order to not accidentally write a contract.
  • Don’t use obscure and technical language, talk to each other like humans.
  • MoUs are a team sport - who needs to be involved: the people doing project work, not just administrators!
  • Things like goals can be helpful
