  • Spectrum got their DRS Project Toolkit installation
  • The Toolkit intern has been working on the Catskills project, and Sarah is meeting with Phill Brown next week.
  • The interns are done for the semester, but there is a new DRS intern for the summer, who will likely work on ingesting RISE and MarCom materials.
  • Simmons interns will get a small blurb on the website.
  • The IMLS preliminary grant results are back. 2 of the 3 were accepted to give a full proposal, and due to time constraints, we have chosen one (Culturally sensitive forum) and sequestered the other for re-submission in the fall (networked repositories.)
  • Bibliography is available in the google doc
  • Proposal is due June 1st.
  • We also have full dongle availability.
  • Bahare attended an event on Python script for ArcGis.
  • She also went to Harvard for "Space, Place and Geographic Thinking in the Humanities."
  • Focused on WordMap, a descendant of the AfricaMap project.
  • Second day had a presentation by Dr. Anne Knowles, historical geographer,
  • Takeaway: When you are working with humanities data, you have to think like an artist as well as a geographer.
  • Bahare is considering partnering with Steven for a cartography workshop.
  • Dietmar and Steven have been talking about a regular series of invited speakers around info design, lots of good speakers in cartography for that.
