Direct DSG Support

The DSG can provide projects with:

  • A template for robust contributions page; this is a good example.
  • A template for general outreach page -- a way to track the impact of your project by encouraging project users to contact you when teaching with or otherwise adapting your material.
  • When appropriate, Google analytics code, log-in, and basic suggestions on how to start with analytics.

DSG Suggested Practices

  • Suggestions on social media usage to promote the website.
  • DSG recommends using version control when developing custom code. GitHub repositories can be requested for current DSG projects using the general service request form.
  • Post periodic updates to your project website, GitHub repository, or other areas to let the public know your project is still in active development. Even if you haven't contributed new code or versions in some time, even simple notes on a GitHub account will let people know the project is still moving forward.
  • Set up a Pivot alert for new grants in your area.
