  • Steven wants input on how to best shorten data visualization, especially for tweets. Will check AP Style guide and see what recommendations are.


  • Boston Harbor Atlas Project:
  • This project comes out of the Marine Science Center.
  • The data sets they have aren’t ideal, they want to migrate to arcGIS.
  • Bahare told them to considered storymaps, due to issues of a more personalized an in-depth project.
  • Issues include time limitations and timeframes. Must present a habitat by the end of June.
  • Bahare and Steven want to suggest that perhaps they hire us
  • EPA gives states money to contract out, might be a way to fund the specialists.
  • Another issue is the variety of media they want to integrate into these maps
  • The needs of the project bear resemblances to SHARP in structure
  • Next step is background research.


  • Some changes are being made to the website. (See here for a comprehensive list.)
  • Most importantly, there will be restructuring of the projects section and resources & services.
  • Will instead be split up into Services, including things like data viz and GIS, and Tools and Resources like OJS, Omeka, etc.

  • Podio - some changes have been made.
  • Events are for anyone who wants to attend/things we put on ourselves
  • Consultations and Workshops are commissioned by outside parties.
  • We have also added departments, etc. to a drop-down menu, with a connected app that lets us better gather information.
  • We have deleted the working meeting app, and instead moved that information to a page on the wiki.
  • We can get statistics on the tap access door - which could let us see what kind of students use the space.
